It was relatively close to the family event I was there to attend
The fact that you had to preauthorize 100.00. Deposit for a real key on your credit card. The fact that only certain rooms had coffee pots, fridges and microwaves. All the wheelchair accessibility was used up by the maintenance company and/or the security vehicles. The rooms were already precharged to my credit card long before our large group arrived. The rooms were shabby, dirty, and the maintenance of said rooms was poor. The maintenance man picking up laundry felt arrogant enough about his position that he threatened to have us kicked out of private property because the sidewalk wheelchair ramp was his "loading zone"even though it had a big x through it for no parking and no loading zone designation at all. The shower head was falling off. The plugins couldn't hold a plug if your life depended on it. The cleaning staff didn't clean behind furniture at all or around the edges of the room. The cleaning staff sprays smelly deodorizer/cleaner on the walls but don't wipe so there are run marks on all the walls. Burn marks on the furniture in the nonsmoking rooms. Ants crawling around. Holes in the walls. No place to eat in the inn - you had to go somewhere else. The front desk staff were of no help or service at all but some of them were really interested in their many smoke breaks. Some cleaning staff were a lot busier texting than cleaning the rooms they were standing in. The fact that there were extra charges associated with changing sheets or other "extra" housekeeping duties while staying at this inn. A total joke.
we were not happy with dirty rooms but it was only for one night so we did not complain my wife is a house keeper and she found they did not cleaned down side off the bed the heater was dirty the bathroom was dirty is was as they did not have time to care it needs to be cleaned beter
the staff were friendly
It was cheap and in price range
No breakfast in morning
The price was right for a one-night stay, the bed was comfortable enough, and everything was neat and clean. If you're not used to luxury hotels, this would probably be a good landing spot. The gentleman who checked me in was very courteous, and when the front desk girl heard me clunking down the stairs in the morning with my suitcase she came around to ask if I wanted help - big plus! =)
In my room (222) there was a light you had to jiggle to get it to turn on, and some other things in a bit of disrepair, but nothing that really affected my stay. The tea and coffee were downstairs, and no lids were provided for the cups, so when I tried to take my tea upstairs to my room (there's no elevator) I burnt myself mildly - so bring a thermos with you!
Very cheap rooms, some friendly staff, nice view of the mountains
The floor in our room was dirty when we arrived and there was a lot of dust everywhere
I liked the location and the good value for money
Location is good. Place is cheap ( I don't know is it a plus or a minus, as it's ... cheap). Beds' linen are clean and nice, towels are very clean.
First of all we were greeted by the young polite night receptionist who gave us the paper and immediately explained that they will reserve extra $100 from my credit card right away for any damage and, in addition, how much we should pay IF! So, if #1 - don't lose you key, they'll charge your card for $100. If #2 -Don't smoke in the room - they will charge you $500. If #3 - Don't be loud - they'll charge you $200. If #4 - Don't make too much mess or oversize garbage - they'll charge you - and they don't say how much. You have to sign a paper for them to do it and you don't have choice. They also check your ID along Visa - never faced to it in Alberta before, but it's ok, although does not make it more welcome. From the very start they make you feel like you are suspected to be a loud smoking mess-maker stealing somebody's credit cards. Bathroom is not clean enough - I was not excited to find in somebody's red hair NOT from the head... mold spots on the curtains. Towels are spotless though. No balcony, no fridge, no coffee pots, prehistoric little TV. And then you double think to order a pizza (don't oversize garbage with its box) and is afraid to flush a toilet or to laugh (as your neighbors can hear you and the loudness can cost you $200)... nope, I want a hotel next time, not a prison!
Quiet pleassand easy to find
The towels and bedding were clean, even if it was a bare bones old unit.
It did not look what was shown on the internet advertising for the Inn. Most disappointed when I viewed the lobby, hallways and especially the room. It sure needed a sprucing up! The floor would not been any harder to sleep on than the more than firm mattress.
need to trim trees to increase the view at front
Just around the corner from much more expensive places, Mountain View Inn is offering comparable services for much less. There was a fridge and an extra sink in our suite, both very useful. If one is not interested in frills and extras, this is the place to choose.
Frendly staff Comfortable and clean, great loacation
No fridge or coffee, tea making in the rooms
This inn was ok for the money compaired to other hotels in the area.
The cleaning staff should not use so much of the orange odour neutralizer, it stings the nose and eyes. Cleaner bedding would be a nice thing, don't like seeing other peoples stains on them. Mold on the ceiling in the front lobby. If this hotel spent some money on touching up the ceilings and walls it wouldn't feel so dirty. Upgrade the prehistoric T.V.'s and get a plumber in to check the drainage on showers.
We were charged $100 damage deposit, and it took 3 days to get it back !!??
Would have been nice if booking on line any discounts (ama or corporate rates) had been available.
